This April, celebrate NC Beer Month!
With more than 300 breweries and brewpubs in North Carolina – the most in the South – local beer is an essential part of our state’s experience. Visit our cities and towns this April during NC Beer Month, and join the month-long celebration of North Carolina’s beer craftsmanship and those destinations where it thrives?.
THE PROCLAMATION:
On March 21st, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper proclaimed April 2019 as NC Beer Month at one of North Carolina's most esteemed breweries, Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC. The proclamation reflects North Carolina’s status as the “State of Southern Beer,” and highlights its reputation for award-winning craft beers, use of rich NC agricultural ingredients, and booming economic impact of more than $2 billion annually and 12,000 jobs state-wide.
THE EVENTS:
Throughout NC Beer Month, special events from the mountains to the coast will connect beer lovers with craft brews that draw on the state’s agricultural traditions, local chefs who pair their fare with beer, and lodging packages in destinations worth exploring.

Here's a small sampling (dare we say, "a flight") of what to expect...
Breweries jump-started NC Beer Month with late March events including Cask on Fools at Crank Arm Brewing in Raleigh, and a party at Morgan Ridge Railwalk Brewery & Eatery in Salisbury. Once April begins, travelers can find their way to large festivals that showcase a range of NC craft beer such as the long-running Hickory Hops in Hickory, Brewgaloo in Raleigh, and the inaugural Untappd Beer Festival in Charlotte.
Small towns are also creating their own NC Beer Month signatures. Edenton combines beer and history with its Taverns and Trolley Beer Tour, and neighboring Elizabeth City adds a competitive element with Bocce, Beer & Bites, one of three NC Beer Month events in the “Harbor of Hospitality.” Dare to join a Murder Mystery Evening at Skull Camp Brewing in Elkin, or visit Sylva, nestled in the Smokey Mountains, for it's 4th annual Brew Hop.
